Dr. Rumalie Corvera
Doc Mae is the executive director and founder of The Ruth Foundation. She is a Family Medicine Specialist and a Palliative and Hospice Care Physician. She is also the chairman of the Bioethics committee at Asian Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Nanette Ramilo-Cruz
Medical Director for Patient Care
“Nette” is a Family Medicine Specialist and a Supportive, Palliative, and Hospice Care practitioner. In her heart and mind, life becomes more meaningful when caring for patients and their families at home – providing a more personal touch to patient care.
B-Etta “Babes” Ayon
Babes has had 19 years of experience in administration and management with a foundation based in Alabang. At TRF, she is in charge of providing operational leadership for the foundation’s services and advocacy. She ensures quality and good governances through effective resource use and priority goal setting.
Dr. Ruth Chi
Ruth is a Family Medicine and Palliative Medicine Specialist who joined the foundation as Palliative Medicine Consultant and mentor. Ruth gives patients her time and expert attention when she visits them with the rest of the team at least once a week.
Dr. Mark Joseph “Majo” M. Mendoza
Dr. Majo is a Certified Family Physician. He is known to lend a good ear to our patients, and spends additional time in assisting them and their families in coping with their spiritual needs. Dr. Majo is also a consultant at a well-known pharmaceutical. Though he has a hectic schedule, he still finds time to be active in church ministry.
Dr. Arabelle Coleen P. Ofina
Dr. Ara shares her energy, time and smiles with our patients and their family members during home visits. She takes the lead in family conferences aside from regular medical consultations. She is currently a visiting consultant at Asian Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Djhoanna G. Aguirre-Pedro
DJ, as she is fondly called, is a Faculty member and consultant in the Department of Family and Community Medicine of the De La Salle Health Sciences Institute College of Medicine. Apart from the work she does for TRF, she is also a volunteer physician and Hospice and Palliative Specialist for Ayala Alabang Hospice and Mission Community Services or MICOS.
Executive & Administrative Assistant
Virgie’s expertise lies in providing administrative and clerical services for the effective and efficient operations of the foundation. Dependable yet unassuming, and a true team player, Virgie is committed to the success of the foundation’s activities and projects.
Carlo Quilaton, RN
Training Coordinator & Liaison Officer
Carlo has been practicing community hospice nursing for more than four years now. He coordinates with our training consultants for the Leadership for HOPE Certificate Program and helps out with various administrative tasks.
Mitch Nermal, RN
Patient Care Coordinator
Mitch is responsible for coordination and rostering the medical staff of TRF — which includes nurses, doctors, massage therapists and volunteers. With our home visits spread across several cities, Mitch makes sure our patients are well cared for and each aspect of home care represented.
Our community worker helps create patient profiles and determine patients’ needs under the standards of the DSWD. They serve as TRF’s liaison between other government and non-government organizations. Advocating patients rights, they refers our patients to other institutions who may be able to help.
Jelai Ausan, RN
Palliative Care Nurse
Jelai serves as one of the resident palliative care nurses of the foundation. She helps the rest of the patient care team oversee case assessment and care management. She assists in performing initial visits to newly enrolled patients.
Graphic print and brand identity are Ricky’s specialty. Exuberant, lively and funny, he is in charge of TRF’s visual identity, including its logo, color palette and typefaces. He considers working with TRF one of his most fulfilling projects, and a platform for him to support other non-profit organizations.
Communications & Special Projects Associate
Niki works as a content writer for foundation promotions and publications. With her IT background, she also maintains TRF’s website and social media. Writing has always been her passion, and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to hone her skills alongside such a worthy cause.
Ina Amor Mejia
Ina is currently the consultant for publications and Editorial Director of TRF’s quarterly publication, Hopefull Magazine. Of her print and digital media experience, Ina says, “There’s work…and then there’s the kind of work that truly makes a difference in people’s lives. That’s TRF.”
Ayda Nambayan, RN, PhD
Dr. Ayda serves as the training consultant for The Ruth Foundation, developing the training curriculum and localizing content to the Philippine context. She worked most of her years as a palliative nurse in the US. Ayda is a certified ELNEC trainer, having attended one of the pioneering classes when it first started.
